How to Secure Equipment on Utility Poles

Step 1: Choose the Right Tool

  • Use WCT-319 or WCT-322 for standard stainless steel zip ties (up to 19mm wide).
  • Use WCB-324 for wider stainless steel banding applications (up to 24mm).

Step 2: Wrap and Position the Strap

  • Wrap the stainless steel strap or zip tie around the equipment and the utility pole.
  • Ensure the strap is flat and properly aligned to avoid slippage or uneven tension.

Step 3: Apply Tension

  • Insert the tail of the strap into the selected IWISS tool.
  • Squeeze the handle to tighten the strap securely around the pole.

Step 4: Cut

  • Once the desired tension is achieved, continue squeezing to engage the cutting mechanism.
  • For tools with removal functions (WCT-319 and WCT-322), use the release feature to remove or adjust zip ties during maintenance or rework.

Step 5: Secure the Band (WCB-324 Only)

  • Bend the excess band between the ears of the buckle.
  • Use a hammer to flatten the ears and lock the band for a secure hold.
